The World Lost Its Humanity A Long Time Ago, Paris Was Just Another Reminder Of How Far We Have Fallen

me.jpg2I think that the world has never recovered from the USA’s dropping of an atomic bomb (nuclear weapon) on the civilians of Hiroshima and 3 days later having had time to reflect on the senseless loss of life that their actions had caused, returned with their bombers and dropped another atomic bomb on the civilians of Nagasaki and got away with it.  I think that mankind allowing the USA to get away with the murder of all of those innocent people set the tone for what was going to be considered acceptable civilian loss of life in war, or justifiable collateral damage when using the  excuse of self defense.  The lack of political will to punish the USA after World War 2 prepared the way for the final dark steps needed for man to take that would see the end of  mankind’s final slide down the slippery slope of man’s inhumanity to man that could end in his own  self annihilation. That not one American leader has ever faced a charge related to war crimes, or crimes against humanity has in my opinion set the tone and precedent for the horror we see today in Paris and all over the world.

The USA makes claims to be sorry for their actions, but since they dropped those bombs and got away with they have built up their arsenal of weapons of mass destruction and have used them as a threat to pressure and bend the world to their will.  The USA has put into action an arms race that I believe can only result in catastrophe and the end of life on this planet as we know it, literally.   All you hear in answer to why the use of such deadly force when talking to world leaders is, “We are just defending ourselves like the USA does.”

No sane person can condone the type of attack that the people of Paris, France was subjected to at the hands of ISIS. This was indeed a cowardly act meant to spread fear and I feel is in retaliation for the many deaths and vast destruction that the American led alliance is inflicting on them with their none stop bombing runs.  That so many innocent civilians were killed and seriously injured in the Paris attack was a sin before anyone’s God, but to pretend that it was unprovoked and was not in retaliation for what France is doing in Syria is a misrepresentation of the truth and moves the world no closer to finding a solution that does not include more senseless death.

For France’s president to pretend that his country was not already at war with ISIS and make claims that the attacks on France was a declaration of war has me wondering a few things like,

  1. Just why France’s jets were bombing in Syria in the 1st place if France was not at war with ISIS.
  2. If France thought that conducting bombing runs over the sovereign territory of Syria without the permission of the Syrian government constituted an act of war against Syria and ISIS?
  3. How the president of France justifies bombing  Syria in an attempt to destroy ISIS is not an act of war against either, but an attack on its homeland by ISIS was?

I do not understand why everyone in the media, the government of France and the member states of the American led Western Alliance are shocked that France was attacked.  I guess I do not understand the depth of western arrogance that allows for the member states of the Western Alliance to continue to think that,

  1. No matter what atrocities we commit in times of war that we are still to be considered the civilised world and our enemy is somehow inferior to us and are to be considered the uncivilised ones.  I feel that it is this wrong vision of what is considered to be the actions of civilised nations that leads to the lack of respect and priority that is brought to bear when dealing with the concerns Muslims nations in a respectful way that could possibly avert and even stop what obviously certain factions within the Muslim world consider the only way they can get the west’s attention and show them what it feels like to be hunted and killed in your own country by those with no real authority and permission to be there.
  2. That we can control and manipulate war in such a fashion that we pick the battle field, we pick who dies and we pick what weapons that are to be used, even if our enemies do not have any of the weapons chosen.
  3. That only we who belong to the civilised world have the right to not only brag and gloat about hunting down and assassinating leaders of sovereign nations and those we feel are terrorists, but even the slightest acknowledgement of what is the driving force behind ISIS’s attacks that differs from that of the USA led coalition is considered suspect and treason and could get you arrested as a terrorist sympathizer or home grow radicalized person.

I am dismayed by what actions that France and the rest of the Western Alliance have threatened to take as a direct result of the Paris attack and what actions have not even been talked about such as,

  1. Talk about escalating the intensity and the merciless indiscriminate violence by France and the USA led coalition that up to now has done nothing to stop ISIS or terrorist attacks in the countries like France.
  2. Showing pictures of the dead, which only serve the escalation of Islamophobia in coalition member states. I find it ironic that when over 1,000 Palestinian children were killed by Israel in a couple of weeks not one picture went up telling of the loss of those children’s family, but instead came the reaffirming of Canada’s unconditional support of Israel and its right to defend itself.
  3. Zero talk about trying to find out what are the root causes of these types of attacks.
  4. Zero talk from now prime minister Trudeau about the need to find out the root causes that provide the environment for groups like ISIS to come into existence in the first place and what makes them so attractive that our own Canadian born youth are drawn to them and are so easily radicalized by them. I am saddened that he chose to spit out the same political rhetoric as the previous government instead of holding true to his  beliefs and convictions he publicly stated when he was in 3rd party leader in the House of Commons and not the yet prime minister with a majority status in the House of Commons.

Considering all that has led up to the Paris attack and all that has transpired after it I believe that both sides have learned nothing from all of the senseless deaths and are now poised to drag the entire world into the 3rd world war that I truly believe will either destroy the world to a point where all of this becomes moot and survival of the human race will become the people of the world’s only priority, or bring forth a new species to be the caretaker of the earth, one without the petty prejudices and need to feel superior that are doing such a lousy job at the present time.  I think that there is more at stake this time around than human values, religious freedoms and the right to self-determination.  What I think is at stake this time is man’s very existence and somehow I do not see man coming out of this in very good shape. Think about it the strongest most powerful nation in the world has placed itself above international law.  How far do I think the USA is prepared to go when it comes to war and getting what it wants? I do not have to guess, I just have to go back a short time in history and see how the USA responded to Japans attack on a USA military installation to see what lies ahead for the world, but in case you have forgotten let me refresh your memory of what this civilised nation proved that it is willing to do to win.

  • On August 6, 1945, during World War II (1939-45), an American B-29 bomber dropped the world’s first deployed atomic bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. The explosion wiped out 90 percent of the city and immediately killed 80,000 people; tens of thousands more would later die of radiation exposure. Three days later, a second B-29 dropped another A-bomb on Nagasaki, killing an estimated 40,000 people

What will it take this time for them to launch such an attack on those they believe to be the uncivilised people of the world?

When the USA 1st decided to get involved in this quagmire of yet another never-ending war I remember Barrack Obama saying something to the effect that he knew that there would be no solution reached that would last using violence and yet there has been nothing else but violence by both sides and no meaningful attempts made to get both sides to the negotiating table. There have been talks without one side at the table as is par for the course when the Western Alliance is negotiating anything a regime change in a sovereign nation by military force as they did in Iraq. No country in the Western Alliance would allow for some other country to force a regime change on them no matter how justified the other country was in demanding it and yet the Western Alliance members states seem confused and angry that Syrian president refuses to step down and offer himself up to be tried for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Will the USA offer up George W. Bush Jr. to face his war crimes and crimes against humanity? Will the USA force Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu to resign and offer himself up to face the war crimes and crimes against humanity that he has committed and that he is still committing? I do not think so, but if the answer ever becomes yes then I might be inclined to say that they have a right to demand such a thing of another country’s leader in the interest of world order and justice.

Note:

  • We the “civilised people of the world” can always find a way to justify our heinous acts and have sought, expect and demanded forgiveness for them, or simply rewrote history to make ourselves the adventurous hero fighting to bring civilisation to the “savages, or the uncivilised people of the world; the fact that they did not want to be civilised did not matter much, because refusal of assimilation meant annihilation, ask the aboriginal peoples of North America, if you think that I lie.
  • Germany murdered 6 million innocent Jewish men, women and children in gas chambers and conducted scientific experiments on hundreds of thousands of others and blamed it on the Nazi’s as if they were another race of people.
  • Israel killed in one set of battles over 1,000 innocent Palestinian children, but insists that they are not to be blamed for defending themselves and all of the so called civilised countries of the world supported them and agreed.
  • Canada being the worst of these, declaring their unconditional support for Israel’s murdering of innocent children and intentional targeting places where civilians had trying to find safe haven like United Nations Hospitals which were clearly marked and all knew about. Civilised Canada further proved its unconditional support for Israel by trying to interfere with a case the Palestinians were trying to get heard before the world court in which the Palestinians were alleging that Israel was guilty of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity against them.  Canada fearing that if the case was accepted that indeed Israel stood a good chance of losing decided to interfere and get the Palestinians to withdraw their case on Israel’s behalf.   Civilised, law-abiding Canada did this by threatening to withdraw much-needed and depended financial and other humanitarian support given to the Palestinian’s if they continued with their case. In other words withdraw your case and forget that Israel killed over a 1,000 of your children and bombed hospitals or we will cut off your humanitarian aid. ” Bravo Canada?” Are these things mentioned above how civilised and law-abiding nations behave?

All this for me makes Paris look like nothing more than par for the course in a world that  lost its humanity  a long ago.

Defeating ISIL Will Be A Hollow Victory Indeed, If The Price To Be Paid Is The Loss Of Canada’s Democracy Or Worse At Its Own Hand

me.jpg2In Canada being ignorant of the law is no excuse for breaking it.  This rule applies to all Canadians including the government.  This means that if you break a law that you do not know about this will not stop you from being arrested for said crime, because it your duty as a Canadian citizen to keep reasonably informed and up to date about the laws that you live under. If you are planning to do something in business for example and you are not sure of the laws governing the legality of you are considering, you are required to seek out professional legal advice to ensure that you are not in violation of any laws of Canada before you begin whatever venture you are considering getting involved in. So I would ask what is up Canada with this strong, stable majority Conservative government’s inability to understand either Canadian or international law, or their out right refusal to adhere to either one?

I ask this  because in my opinion the Conservative Party of Canada which has a majority government and holds a majority in the senate believes that neither body of laws applies to them.  They have repeatedly forced through laws that will not pass constitutional mustard, because they violate the both the international safe guarded rights of all citizens of the world as well as the constitutional rights of  all Canadians. These court battles not only represent billions of wasted tax payer wasted dollars that could be avoided if the government first sought out and then took some legal advice before ramming legislation through parliament and into law, but also highlights their view that their majority status puts them above the laws of Canada and in fact entitles them to disregard it totally and change it according to their whim. Of course this attitude and method of creating policy has seen a record number of their new laws and changes to Canada’s old laws  stricken down on appeal to the Supreme court of Canada and also in the courts below it. Since there are a staggering amount of cases in which this has happened to this majority Conservative Party of Canada government, I will just offer these few examples of the latest in a string of key legal defeats for the government:

  1. The Federal Court of Canada ruled that cuts to health care for rejected refugee claimants were “cruel and unusual.” and gave the government four months to reverse the changes introduced in 2012.
  2. June: Supreme Court upholds privacy rights, ruling that internet service providers must not disclose names, addresses and phone numbers of their customers to law enforcement officials without a warrant. This expected to force the government to change bills on cyber bullying (C-13) and digital privacy (S-4) currently before Parliament.
  3. April: In a unanimous ruling, the high court affirmed that offenders can receive extra credit for time spent in custody before they are sentenced, a blow against the government’s Truth in Sentencing Act, which attempted to curb the practice by allowing it only in “exceptional” circumstances. The ruling, which was precedent-setting but did not strike down the law, gave judges the right to apply the extra credit for time served but did not reject the government’s limit of a 1.5 credit.
  4. March: March:  The Supreme Court strikes down section 10(1) of the Abolition of Early Parole Act, which tried to retroactively abolish accelerated parole for offenders who had already been sentenced as a violation of the offenders’ charter rights.
  5. September 2011: The Supreme Court ordered the federal minister of health to grant a Vancouver supervised injection clinic an exemption under Canada’s drug laws so it can remain open. The ruling gave the minister discretion to approve or deny future requests for exemptions, but required the government to balance public safety and charter rights when making the decision.

Is it so hard to believe that Canadians who used to believe that the idea of “democracy” and the phrase, “rule of law” really meant something are now becoming cynical of both and see neither really applying to the governance they are receiving from this government of Canada? Unfortunately in today’s Canada it would seem that the present government feels that the rules, principles and spirit of democracy can be sidestepped, ignored and rendered moot simply by their creation of new legislation. I believe that when a government continually rams through legislation that is constantly in violation of its citizens constitution and charter rights as this government is constantly trying to do that  it is guilty of leading its country away from it being able to lay claim to being  a democratically governed and a law-abiding country, because it is not enough to simply declare to be, a nation must also demonstrate their democracy and rule of law through its actions and treatment of every citizen equally and without prejudice. These are a few of the things that concern me and have me beginning to wonder if  Canada’s boast of being a supporter of democracy, human, civil and religious rights are still true:

  1. This government’s chipping and stripping away of more and more of our rights and freedoms that are the corner stones of Canadian democracy.
  2. This government’s mocking of  our democratic processes with its altering of the Canadian law with its creation of its “ministry of democratic reform.” I believe that this ministry was created by this party to change existing Canadian law that made the governments  continued violations of Canada’s election laws (which were  landing them in hot water). Instead of seeking all party consensus this government did as it has done on so many other occasions and simply rammed the legislation into law, by virtue of the majority they hold in all committees. (senate and parliamentary) The Canada Election Act of old was put in place to ensure fair elections for all political parties; this is not the case with the changes the Conservative Party of Canada has forced into law with their strop, stable majority government.
  3. This Conservative Party of Canada majority  government uses its majority  to force closure and shut down debate using time allocation at least 75 times in this parliament alone.
  4. I see this Conservative Party of Canada majority government refuse to consider and adopt even one amendment from any opposition party into any of their legislation.
  5. I see this Conservative Party of Canada use its majority to make irrelevant and fire the heads of parliamentary oversight agencies like, the head of Elections Canada, the Parliamentary Budget Officer, The Privacy Commissioner, the Auditor General of Canada, just to name a few for doing their jobs.
  6. I see this government refuse to be transparent on anything that it is trying to accomplish, even withholding the cost of the war to degrade and eventually defeat ISIL which we as Canadians are paying for and have a right to know, but something that our allies freely given to their citizens and I great detail.
  7. I see the government passing laws that ask judges who are supposed to uphold the constitutional rights of all Canadians to ignore them if they are to by the police  the RCMP or CSIS

Some would argue that in  order to protect ourselves from terrorist attacks and the loss our, values, religion as well rights and freedoms that we must we must be willing to pay the price for this protection, namely:

  • Some loss of our right to privacy.
  • Some loss of legal rights for example (a)the right of an accused to face one’s accuser, (b)the right to have a judge examine all of the evidence of a case before him or her and decide on its merit and its legality and (c)the right to know that the judge has not allowed for the violation of you civil, human, Canadian Charter or constitutional rights.

I would suggest however that if the price of victory over ISIS is the loss of our rights and freedoms guaranteed us under the Canadian Constitution and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and all international act and treaties that Canada is supposed to be a willing participant in, then the price tag is too high. What good is there for Canadians if in saving Iraq from ISIL for instance and bringing democracy of a sort to that region for another we have to violate and ignore the fundamental principles of our own democracy? These principles that this majority Conservative government of Canada are doing an end run around  are the core values that comprise the very bedrock that supports and allows for our way of life for any governing party in Canada to try to do away with any of this core is to make us the same as any other people governed by a dictatorship, or authoritarian regime.

Canadians are allowing the Conservative Party of Canada to capitalize on the fear they are guilty of inciting in this country.  I believe that the Conservative Party of Canada has nothing against Muslims and could careless about the plight of Jews or Israelis whether in Canada, Israel or anywhere else in the world; both of these groups are just a means to a political end for the Conservative Party of Canada. I believe that the Conservative Party of Canada has and is still exploiting those fears to such a dangerous level. Canadians are suspicious  and leery of other Canadians and  so divided that the majority of Canadians are willingly being led down the slippery slope of  going along with things that we know are racist, non democratic and in fact have a lot in common with those of Adolf Hitler’s Germany and Joseph Stalin’s Russia.

Since the war on terror began after 9/11 I feel that it is us who call ourselves the civilised nations who have become more like the terrorist we claim we are fighting rather than they becoming more like us.  We are more like them than they have been made to be like us, for instance:

  • The RCMP,CSIS and the police will soon be able to  legally pick up a Canadian citizen and hold said person in a secret location for 7 days without charge, on the suspicion that they may be going to commit a terrorist act at sometime not known and somewhere not known against some one or some thing, again unknown. Does this not sound like what happens in those regimes that we are supposed to be trying to change and the others as strong or stronger than us militarily that we very vocally criticize?
  • The RCMP, CSIS and the police will now be able to spy on Canadian citizens, take down whatever they believe not posted in the best interest of the country without the knowledge of said citizen.  This to me smacks of anti freedom of speech and expression the, like we see in China and Russia for example where the state controls what is seen publicly and what is okay to express publicly.

ISIL, Boko Haram, al-Qaeda and all the other organizations referred to as barbaric terrorist organisations do commit atrocities against women like kidnapping them and forcing them into marriages and the like, but these atrocities that I agree are despicable and need to be stopped unfortunately are all that separates them from the America led coalition, including Canada, this is what I mean:

  1. Both sides do violent, deplorable things to their captives  in order to extract information, or for some other advantage from them and both side have killed their captives.  ISIL out in the open and bragging and the American led coalition in secret and denying everything like in Guantanamo Bay.
  2. Both side knowingly target innocent civilians and consider their deaths and suffering as collateral damage again one side openly acknowledging and even bragging about and the other denying they do it at all.
  3. Both side say that they are right and are being threatened by the other and are only defending themselves and their very existence.
  4. Both sides now believe that it is okay to enter and cause war in a sovereign country without legal grounds. Although the prime minister and Jason Kenney  seem to believe that it is unlikely that Canada will be taken to court over violating international laws and that it is okay to do because the USA has been ding it for months without legally being  challenge by any international body where crossing over into to Syria to wage war on ISIL is concerned, does not make what Canada is doing legal, it simply puts them in the same illegal place as the terrorists they seek to degrade and defeat.(defiantly refusing to abide international law that gets in their way of accomplishing the political agenda)

What a hollow victory we Canadians will have won if we must lose all of what makes us Canadians to win the mission to degrade and hopefully defeat ISIL.

Some Members And Supporters Of The Western Alliance Seem To Be Still Asking Why Their Citizens Are Under Attack At Home And Abroad?

c557919c9244d4cb9576e67236544003What is up Canada?  There seems to be a lot of confusion within the governments and the people of the Western Alliance and their allies as to why they are being targeted by what they are describing as Islamic, Jihadi  terrorists by both home-grown and foreign, at home and abroad. That is all except for Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper, seeking to look statesmanlike in an election year declared to anyone that still listens to him  and takes what  comes out of his mouth with any degree of  respect, or seriousness that:

  1. There is no difference between teens messing around in their basements and someone who is radicalized. Prime Minister Harper said, “It would be a serious offence no matter who you are.” “It doesn’t matter what the age of the person is, or whether they’re in a basement, or whether they’re in a mosque, To him  or somewhere else.”
  2. “We are being attacked by these Islamic Jihadi terrorist groups, simply because we are Canadian.”

Minister of Public Safety  and Preparedness Steven Blaney and Minister of Defense Rob Nicolson, keep changing the definition of what a Islamic Jihadi terrorist is.

  1. The latest definition of what a Islamic Jihadi terrorist is seems to be any Canadian citizen who for whatever reason commits an act of violence against the Canadian government, who has  declared publicly that they are an Islamic convert. Safety Minister Steven Blaney  referred to a man who was  a paranoid schizophrenic and who was suicidal, as being a Islamic Jihadi terrorist for no other reason than he stated publicly that he recently had converted to Islam.

Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird, is walking away from his cabinet post and politics, but not before he was successful in insuring that Canada’s international reputation in several areas was totally destroyed, such as:

  1. Canada’s reputation as a peace keeper.
  2. Canada’s reputation as a country that adhered to international law.
  3. Canada’s reputation as a country where all  refugees regardless of religion, culture and ethnicity were welcomed with open arms.
  4. Canada’s reputation for helping other countries in times of disaster without looking for repayment in terms of trade deals, or the acquiring things like a country’s water and mineral rights.

Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird, is walking away from his cabinet post and politics, after insuring that those who do not believe in the Western Alliance’s  way of governing a country; the Western Alliance’s religious beliefs; the Western Alliances culture,  know that Canada believes that the only other way to insure the world a long-lasting peace and the end to terrorism can only be achieved by:

  1. Canada’s supporting  and taking an active role in sanctions, embargos and blockades of one sort or another designed to totally decimate a perceived enemy’s economy.
  2. Canada’s participation in totally destroying the infrastructure of an enemy, through bombing and other means of military action
  3. Canada’s closure of embassies in Canada and abroad and by the  expulsion of certain diplomats from this country without provocation.
  4. Canada’s declaration that we are against the Palestinians taking Israel to the world court, for war crimes they feel that Israeli’s were guilty of perpetrating against them and that if they did not desist in such provocative action that Canada would consider withdrawing promised financial support to them.
  5. Proving that who do not believe as the Western Alliance does and refuse to convert willingly, will be forced to bow down, or be crushed by the Western Alliance’s military superiority.

The Western Alliance’s theory on what constitutes acceptable rules of engagement in war amounts to, “We make the rules of war and we expect those we fight to follow them no matter how one-sided and ridiculous they are; such as:”

  1. Their right to attack a sovereign nation, kill  their enemies in their own land and demand that there be no resistance and no retaliation of any kind, be it in the form of returned violence, or the seeking of justice in the international courts.
  2.  Their right to carry out assignation attempts, or put out contracts for the murder, or capture of their heads of state, or religious leaders and demand that there be no resistance and no retaliation of any kind, be it in the form of returned violence, or the seeking of justice in the international courts.
  3. Their right to intentionally target their civilian populations and some how at the end of the day be able to say that we are justified and demand that there be no resistance and no retaliation of any kind, be it in the form of returned violence, or the seeking of justice in the international courts.

I think that you are very naïve, delusional, or mad, or all of the afore-mentioned if you go into a war thinking that you can expect your enemy not to answer violence with violence, or that calling them terrorists would alter their use of what they think will win for them, because you do not approve of their methods.  Mentally I do not think that the west can win this war because their civilian populations have been convinced by their politicians that war can be won without loss of life to their side. This has allowed for the populations of the west to lose sight of the fact  that war is a dirty business where people on both sides die.  What is worse is that the populations of the west are now demanding that wars come to an end before they are won, because soldiers are dying in combat, or demanding that a war be fought without putting their soldiers at risk; both impossible tasks.  Why else would there be such a public outcry when a soldier is killed, be it at home or in another country, or a need for a vigil, and televised funeral every time  a soldier or a peace officer is killed in this war against terrorism?

I wonder does Stephen Harper’s reasoning as to why we are being targeted by what he calls Islamic Jihadi terrorist groups brought on by the same type of  ignorance he and his caucus seem to have adopted about how to deal with  the problems that have developed between First Nations and the rest of Canada? That age-old paternalistic attitude that makes it hard for him to believe that First Nations could actually want implemented what was written in the treaties they signed with the rest of Canada (self governance and nation to nation sharing of Canada for a start), when the government of Canada already does what is best for them?

Japan chose to take an active role in the war against terror and offered to donate $200 million dollars to aid the Western Alliance and their allies to aid them in their fight to degrade and defeat ISOL and then wonders why their citizens are being targeted by ISOL in Iraq; “Really?” The answer is simple one as far as “why” for Japan. ISOL used the deaths of Japan’s 2 citizens to:

  1. Teach them and the rest of the so-called neutral countries of the world that if you  wish to be considered a neutral party as far as these 2 fanatical entities are concerned, then  as a person, group, government or country, your actions and words can never belie that neutrality whether it be  spoken, financial, military, or any other form of support.
  2. When it comes to these 2 fanatical, relentless foes there can be no partial participation. These 2 evil entities have battled each other through history, using many different names, many different approaches and a whole bunch of promises that are but worms on a hook designed to catch fish.  The Western Alliance as  one fanatical side calls itself today promises rewards of this world (money, citizenship etc.,  if you will just join them in their war against terror, but what good is any of it, if your lifetime could be reduced to tomorrow? ISOL/The Islamic State as the other fanatical side calls itself today promises those who would support them rewards only diminished by one’s lack of imagination, in the glorious afterlife, (riches, women but no one has ever come back to say that this promise was true. In reality  Japan and the world is being shown once again that the  only real reward that either side can honestly give to any person, group, or government stupid enough to answer yea to either side’s call for support, is generations of  suffering, ending only when your citizens are mercifully put out of their misery by death.

Japan has hardened its heart and vows never to forgive those responsible for killing 2 of their citizens, all too soon Japan is forgetting that it was they as a country that chose to no longer be innocent bystanders, but rather become financial supporters of the Western Alliance, making them no longer a neutral country, but an ally of the Western Alliance sworn to degrade and defeat ISOL, or  at war with ISOL’S with all of the penalties that one suffers by making that choice.

The governments of France,  Great Britain, Australia, Germany, Canada and all other “coalition member states” are the Western Alliance,  the other evil entity in this never-ending war that seeks to dominate and make the world over in their image. This makes them no innocent victims in this war that has slowly infected the world with hatred, divisiveness and mistrust of anything that is different from themselves.  In my opinion they have already lost this war on terror despite their superior weaponry, because it is they who:

  1. Have made enemies of their own minority ethnic and religious citizens,  by treating them deplorably, especially when it comes to Muslims. In all of these countries Muslims are being treated with all of the mistrust and face the same accusatory suspicion as the Japanese people were exposed to in Canada during the 2nd world war.  Thank God for small mercies that this government has not seen the need to round them up for the safety of “real Canadians” and put them in internment camps.
  2. Have turned from their democratic principles that they claim to be fighting for and are changing all of their laws to take the power from the people and give it to the government, making these countries more autocratic than democratic.
  3. Their own citizens of European heritage and Christian upbringing are renouncing their faith, culture and heritage and picking up arms against them, both at home and abroad.

I would suggest to all of the governments  should to take a good look at their  foreign policies, their treatment of religious, cultural and ethnic minorities within their countries and the violence that they inflict on the innocent civilian’s in other countries when debating terrorist attacks in their countries and on their citizens abroad, for the answer to the question of ,”Why us?”

Food for thought:

  1. When as a nation you become so terrified of your enemy that you start arresting and detaining children as young as 8 years old as they did in France because he declared, “I am with the terrorists” and because he refused to take part in the national minute of silence for the victims of the slain, can you really consider yourself winning the war on terror or giving into an irrational nation wide hysteria?
  2. When the only way you can get followers is to raid villages of your own countrymen and kill off all of the adult men and leave all of the adult females alone, capture, rape all of the teenage girls and force them to wed and become forced converts and slaves, capture and force all of the male children to convert and join your army and force them to fight for your cause, have you gained real support for your cause or created an enemy that will secretly fight against you from within?

None of these measures have worked for either side and they never will, because you cannot starve a people, kill a person’s whole family, subject them to persecution, oppression and in some cases ethnocide and genocide and expect no retaliation of any kind.  This kind of behavior from anyone only leads to resistance and retaliation, leading to a vicious circle of revenge with every hostile action being met with one more horrific than the other, until the end of time. The answer to why us is clear and it is so simple, For the  Western Alliance (whose majority of member states are religiously Christian) they only need look to their bibles for the answer of why they are being targeted by Islamic Jihadi terrorists, “Live by the sword, die by the sword” is a saying derived from a saying of Jesus, quoted in the Bible, to the effect that if you use violence, or other harsh means, against other people, you can expect to have those same means used against you; “You can expect to become a victim of whatever means you use to get what you want.”

Let me conclude by saying that I think that there is no room in the world for the violence that we are seeing from either side of this ideological, religious and toxic war that has span multiple generations, turned nation against nation and threatens to cause another world war.  Innocent people are being killed, because of intolerance, fear mongering and divisive actions of 2 old and fanatical enemies. I speak of the Western Alliances role in this war not because I agree with the actions of ISOL, al Qaeda, or any other group that kills innocent people to make a political point. I speak to the Western alliances actions in this war,  because there are too many people in too many countries who think  wrongly that the Western Alliance’s use of violence and torture to convert those in other lands to its way of thinking is justified and understandable and that its deplorable treatment of its cultural, religious and ethnic minorities is justified to preserve the security of the majority. I speak to the role of the Western Alliance in this war, because to many of its citizens believe that  violence leads to peace, if the words behind the killing sounds good and makes their country and them look like heroes.

Are Machine Guns For The RCMP, New Powers For Our Politicians, Police And Spies To Snoop, Or The More People We Kill The Answer To Canada’s Terrorism Problems?

c557919c9244d4cb9576e67236544003What is up Canada? Are machine guns for the RCMP, new powers for our politicians, police and spies to snoop on Canadians at home and while they are traveling, or the more people we kill, the answer to Canada’s Terrorism Problems?  Has anything that this government has done since they decided to join the USA in exacting its never-ending revenge on all the Islamic states in the world for the few Islamic extremist who ordered and carried out the attacks  in the USA on 9/11 helped to protect Canadians from terrorist threats and attacks in Canada, or abroad? I do not think so. Has anything that the USA led allies including Canada has done up to this point helped to reduce the number of terrorists, or terrorist attacks in the world, or has it all gotten a whole lot worse? I would say that for Canada it has gotten a whole lot worse since everything that happens of a violent nature is deemed to be a terrorist attack and in some way related to radicalization of a young Canadian into a Islamic terrorist group.    It is like the more power the government takes for itself, the better they arm the RCMP and the more snooping power they give to the police and our spies, the less Canadians are being protected. We are being asked in the name of  aiding in our own protection by this government and these protection agencies to give up our rights listed below and are getting nothing in return, because all of these things do not seek to solve the problem, but instead seek to mask the problem.

  • Right to have the police obtain a warrant before they start collecting information regarding our internet,  our cellphones, or anything else digital.
  • Right to have the police get a warrant before they search our homes and other private property from which they feel may contain evidence of a crime that has been committed or will be committed somewhere in the future.
  • Right to a fair and open trial based on evidence deemed relevant to the case by a judge, with evidence and witnesses that can be cross-examined and allow for ourselves to be able to be arrested without a warrant and to be judged by hearsay from witnesses that will no longer be identified and can not be cross-examined even by the presiding judge.
  • Right to travel freely whenever and wherever we want, because somewhere at sometime some cop, or  pencil pusher working in a policing, or spying agency somewhere within Canada or within the Five Eyes has determined that you could be a home-grown terrorist looking to engage in terrorist activity abroad, based on evidence that no one else including you, or a judge will ever see.

None of the things mentioned above are the way of doing things in Canada, but they are in line with how nations we call oppressive regimes operate.  The Harper government is changing Canada into a  country where the government and the policing agencies do not need to answer, or prove just cause to an independent judicial oversight body for their actions when restricting, or denying the rights of its civilian population.  Even while Stephen Harper and his government are bombing other countries, participating in the torture of captured enemies and engaging in diplomatic isolation tactics for other nations who they deem to be oppressive regimes, Stephen Harper and his government are rewriting the laws of Canada to give themselves and Canadian policing and spying agencies the very same power over Canadian citizens as those countries we call backward, lawless, inhumane, totalitarian and anti democratic. How he still insists on the validity of Canada’s claim to be a leader in the fight for democratic governance and an end to social and legal injustice with a straight face, I do not know. I do know however that lasting peace can not be achieved through coercion such as trade  sanctions embargoes, diplomatic isolation and in some cases helping to enforce no fly zones, naval blockades and even going to war to unseat what we call rogue governments.  History has shown that these tactics only increase resentment and the hardening of positions.

I do not think that any of the measures in the new laws will help protect Canadians from any type of terrorist threat, whether it be foreign, or domestic, because none of these measures address the real problems that must be solved before peace can be won. Everyone made fun of Justin Trudeau when he talked of getting to the root source of the problems that are causing young Canadian males to turn away from their government and country and try to go abroad and fight for organizations like ISIS and kill Canadians and her allies. Everyone tried to make Justin Trudeau seem idiotic when he said the answer to the war on terrorism could only be found by finding out what the root causes are that make people chose to be terrorists in the first place and relieve the source of such desperate actions, but I think in both scenarios Justin Trudeau was right.

Canadian home grow terrorist attacks: How many people can we put in jail, stop from traveling abroad and even if we could stop them all what are we asking for more soldiers run down in the street, more shootings at historical sites, or attacks on government building, police stations, maybe city halls, national assemblies, or parliament hill once again?  Is this so much better than finding out what is hurting people and driving them to commit such senseless acts of violence, whether they are real or imagined? I like Justin Trudeau do not think so.

Neither do I believe that arming the RCMP with machine guns will keep them from getting killed when they are ambushed.  those that died in Moncton did not die because they were out gunned they died because they were caught off guard, ambushed and had no chance to defend themselves. Maybe the Harper government could make those types of weapons that killed the members of the RCMP illegal in Canada instead of insisting that they are the right of every Canadian to own, or barring that reinstate the Long Gun Registry so that those officers who answer emergency calls are not walking into incidents where the  criminal has the potential of being better armed.

Terrorism abroad:  The USA and it’s better gunned allies have bombed, civilian targets and military targets in almost every Islamic nation trying to win it’s so called war on terrorism. These so called anti terrorist groups have crippled economies, denied access to trade markets, starved and denied innocent men , women and children food, water, medicine in an effort to break them and force them to give in to what the participating countries in the Western alliance want, which in my opinion means the end to their existence as free independent Islamic nations; much the same as they did to the North American Indians, the people of the African nations especially South Africa, the people of Hawaii and the Polynesian Islands.

They have named themselves, The Coalition of The Willing, The Western Alliance and made it clear that they support Israel no matter what crimes against humanity it perpetrates and I am sure in the eyes of most of the Islamic nations they invade, bomb, occupy and kill innocent people they are called terrorists and considered enemies that need to be resisted by any means necessary.  In its latest act of stupidity the Harper government along with the Tom Mulcair’s NDP and the Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party of Canada have come together to acknowledge that the Palestinians not only have reason, but it is also their right under international law  to sue for Israel for what it considers war crimes that Israel has perpetrated against them and in the same breath denounce such an attempt calling such an attempt ill-advised and detrimental to a lasting peace achieved through negotiations.  The USA and its allies are not only denouncing the Palestinian effort  to avail themselves of their legal right to sue for justice, but are threatening to withhold a promised financial aid package, claiming that to sue Israel for the war crimes it has committed, is counter productive to a negotiated settlement with Israel for a 2 state solution.   How productive is giving these people no solution other than doing what they are told? The USA and their allies have only one offer on the table for the nations of Islam and that is to accept the USA and their allies which includes Israel as their betters and accept the paternalistic arrangement that would leave them without a way to defend themselves militarily, legally in the world court, as well as leave them financially dependant on handouts from it handlers, who at anytime could simply withdraw that support to get compliance to new rules and regulations imposed by the west, as they are doing to Palestinians right now.  How can any sane person in this day and age think that this is the road map to peace in the Middle east or anywhere else.  If you killed my grandfather, grandmother,  father, mother, uncles and aunts and now you are killing my children, my grandchildren, nephews and nieces and call them collateral damage, do you think that you are making more terrorists as you call them, or allies ready to work towards peaceful solution?

The answer to the terrorist threats both international and domestic is very clear, but is being muddied by glory seeking greedy politicians and a fanatical leader in the Middle East who does not want a peaceful negotiated settlement and has stated publicly that he would not allow for a 2 state solution as long as he is the leader of his country.  If countries like Canada who claim to want terrorism to end  and be replaced by peaceful negotiated settlements and truly seek the end to the never-ending wars and the senseless deaths of millions around the world and now at home to end, all sides must be able to see the value in such a brokered peace. I think there needs to be:

  • Support for those who work towards a legal solution whether it is in the world court, or at the negotiating table and condemnation for those who do not, no matter which side dispute we align ourselves with.
  • A realistic offer for peace put on the table.
  • An understanding in the west that it cannot win this war by employing bombing raids that target civilians, embargoes and trade sanctions that end up starving and denying medical supplies to innocent men, women and children, by creating no fly zones that allow the side we are on to bomb the other side.
  • An end to the USA and its allies putting wanted dead or alive contracts on the heads of other countries leaders.
  • An end to all of the interfering by Canada and its allies with another country’s right to seek legal recourse within the confines of international law.

The war is now in our country thanks to Stephen Harper and the Conservative Party of Canada and their unfair, unjustifiable, unconditional support of Israel no matter how many innocent lives they take, no matter how they violate treaties, and no matter how much land they illegally occupy and resettle.  John Baird thought only to laugh at the Palestinian display of their ill feeling for Canada and in fact sought to mock their efforts.  John Baird acknowledged that the only reason Canada supports Israel unconditionally, because it is the only democratic government in the Middle East .  The names freedom fighter and terrorist mean little and are used by the west according to what side of a confrontation they backing at the moment.  When the Russians were in Afghanistan they armed the Afghanis and called them freedom fighters, today they call those who would repel them and reject their control the way they repelled the Russian invaders, terrorists. Canada used to call the Tamils of Sri Lanka freedom fighters, until we decided to back the other side who we knew were guilty of crimes against humanity, Canada now calls them terrorists now as well and has put them on a terrorist list.  There are too many, Palestinians, Syrians and Afghanis living in Canada for example to just keep being a party to the killing of their innocent loved ones back where they originated in the name of democracy and peace and expect no type of retaliatory action from any of them, in any fashion, ever.

Now thanks to Stephen Harper and his government we have Canadians joining terrorist groups and  killing Canadians at home and abroad. What is up Canada, do you think we are really winning the war on terror, either internationally, or domestically? Do you really think that giving the RCMP machine guns, policing agencies and spy agencies the power to violate your privacy rights and the government the authority to remove someone’s citizenship will really help to keep you safe? I don’t.

Is The Two State Solution Based On The Palestinians Becoming The Middle East’s Version Of The North American Indian’s Reality?

c557919c9244d4cb9576e67236544003What is up Canada? Why would Canadian politicians see the Palestinian move to gain admission to the International Criminal Court as a bad thing.  When the Palestinians try to defend themselves and end the illegal occupation of their lands by Israel through violence, they are labelled terrorists and told by Canada, the USA  and the other members of the Western Alliance to seek peaceful solutions to their land being stolen and resettled illegally by Israel. Now when they try to avail themselves of the only legal, peaceful solution available to them through the ICC, they are told that if they pursue this line of action although it is their right to do so and is legal and understandable that they could face financial sanctions from the USA while Canada’s Foreign Minister John Baird publicly denounces their attempt to seek justice.

I get confused at what Canada does want the Palestinians to do in its efforts to seek justice for what it feels are war crimes that Israeli government has committed against the Palestinian people  via peaceful and international accepted  legal means, when I see statements being made like this by Canadian politicians in the National Post:

  • The Canadian government is condemning a move by the Palestinian Authority to join the International Criminal Court in a bid to eventually launch war-crimes prosecutions against Israel.
  • Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird says the action taken by Palestinians this week is a “concerning and dangerous development.” “Such a provocative decision only furthers the divide between Palestinians and Israelis, and will carry unfortunate consequences,” he said. “Canada has expressed these concerns directly to the Palestinian Authority for nearly four years now.”
  • NDP foreign affairs critic Paul Dewar said Friday that the Palestinian bid for ICC membership is “understandable” and “entirely legal,” but nonetheless represents a “ramping up” of tensions that isn’t helpful to the goal of getting a negotiated settlement. “This isn’t going to solve the quagmire that we see between the Israelis and the Palestinians. It doesn’t lead to what we want to see, which is the creation of a state of Palestine with recognition from the Israelis.”
  • Liberal foreign affairs critic Marc Garneau said Friday the Palestinians’ “unilateral” action gets in the way of a “two-state solution.” “I think it sends a signal which is counter-productive. They are free to apply but I think it is a mistake on their part and will only make the situation worse by entrenching positions,” Garneau said.

Is Canada’s and the USA’s position that the two state solution is in reality based on:

  • The Palestinians becoming the Middle East’s version of the North American Indian’s reality?
  • A two state solution that makes the Palestinians the wards of  Israel, to be forever recognised as an independent nation subordinate to Israeli laws, to be given the  right to self governance with an Israeli veto taking priority?
  • Palestinians accepting to teach in their schools and mosques what is dictated to them by the Israelis?
  • Palestinians being willing to give up their lands to Israel, forget and seek no justice in the courts for the bombing of  their children as they played on the beach, slept in their beds and prayed in their mosques?

If not why would the United States congress be threatening to cut $400 million in funding to the Palestinians, for seeking a legal solution to what it feels are war crimes that have been committed against it by Israel?

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reacted angrily, saying the ICC should not accept the Palestinian Authority because it is not a state. He said the Palestinian government includes Hamas, which commits war crimes, but I say  that when he allowed for the shelling and bombing of known civilian targets, he was knowingly committing war crimes and should be tried for them. If he decides to level charges against the Palestinians, I believe that it is his right to do so.  What I do not get is the deliberate interference by Canada and the USA to thwart what has already been acknowledged as, “understandable” and “entirely legal.”

I would ask again, “What is up Canada, is it Canada’s and the USA’s position that the two state solution is in reality based on the Palestinian people becoming the Middle East’s version of the North American Indian’s reality? Is it the same paternalistic approach, the same sort of treaties that will never be honored, the same type of land claims that will never be settled, the same 3rd world living conditions on the one big reserve, or reservation that will be all that is left to Palestine after the solution is forced upon them. It seems that Canadian politicians will not be content until the Palestinians cave in under the weight of embargoes, sanctions, blockades and other forms of coercion, that is being offered as an offer the Palestinians are not entitled to refuse?

What will make Canada happy?

  • Will it be the successful use of an Israeli version of our residential schools imposed on the Palestinians so that their children can be properly assimilated into the west’s way of thinking and value system?
  • Will it be when the Palestinians are wiped off the face of the earth either by violence, or by the loss of their language, religion and culture,  by the Israelis and no longer pose a threat either real or imaginary to the west?

What is clear to me is that the west will continue to back Israel no matter what crimes against humanity they commit and justify it all with rhetoric.  Canada since Stephen Harper took office as the prime minister of Canada is complicit in the deaths of every innocent Palestinian man, woman and child that has died at the hands of Israel.  We are now guilty of interfering with a legal court investigation, by illegally tampering with a United Nations recognised nation seeking membership in the ICC. As well as trying to stop said nation from seeking  justice  in the ICC with threats and coercion and bribery.  Is this truly how Canada sees justice being meted out fairly and without prejudice? Has justice truly come to mean just for us?

“The Interview” Should Never Have Been Made But there Is Another Lesson To Be Learned By The Militarily Strong

c557919c9244d4cb9576e67236544003What is up Canada? Why are the governments of Canada and the United States of America surprised at the reaction of Kim Jong-un, North Korea’s Supreme leader to a movie that Sony Pictures made called, “The Interview?” The stars of the movie are 2 American reporters on a USA sanctioned mission to assassinate him during an interview he granted them. I would ask what if this movie had been made in North Korea, Syria, Russia, or by ISIS and the person to be assassinated was  President Obama of the USA, or Canadian Prime Minister Harper? Do you think that they, the secret services of both countries and the citizens of both countries would still be referring to, “The Interview,” this as a satirical comedy and saying that although we may find the subject matter personally distasteful that it falls within the grounds of freedom of speech and expression? I think not, but then again I think that the west is being taught a different type of lesson and that is that through technology the battlefield has been changed and the weapons that used to make a nation most powerful now make it the most vulnerable.

In Canada our government is passing all sorts of laws that restrict what we say in any form about Jewish people calling it anti-Semitic, or anything that is supportive of any person, or persons that it has deemed to be a terrorist, a terrorist group, or a nation supporting, or promoting terrorist activity I find it rich that it would spout rhetoric about freedom of expression and allowing for the freedom for everyone to have the right to say what it is we are feeling, without fear of threat from our government, or any other government.

Stephen Harper and his government have gone as far as to repeal the citizenship of any dual citizen, revoke the passport of any permanent resident and arrest and charge any Canadian born in Canada if it can be proven that they are guilty of espousing what it calls terrorist propaganda, or contributing to a terrorist cause whether they knew they were doing it or not. In other words Stephen Harper is willing to strand people with Canadian passports in foreign countries without due process for availing themselves of their right to freedom of speech.

Am I wrong in saying that during the  Iraq war the USA interfered in the freedom of the press and in doing so interfered with freedom of speech by embedding reporters and forcing them to sign a contract and agree to allow their reports to be reviewed by military officials prior to release, to be escorted at all times by military personnel, and to allow the government to dismiss them at any time for any reason?

Would it be such a far stretch to say that Kim Jun-un could think of the USA as a terrorist regime out to remove him from power by any means necessary? Are the USA and North Korea both not guilty of taunting each other, each knowing that the other will do nothing overtly in terms of taking action that would cause the other to go to war.

I find it discomforting that the only thing that Harper and Obama can agree on lately is their nations and allies justification for the taking of innocent life along with the guilty in bombing raids and shelling. (Israel’s intentional shelling and bombing of civilian targets that killed over a 100 children.) Obama and Harper have finally found something else on which they agree and once again they do not seem to care that it puts at risk innocent lives even though those innocent lives are those of their own citizens. Both leaders publicly stated that Sony should not have pulled the movie and given into threats and that it was a mistake to give into terrorist threats and demands. Obama was of the opinion that Sony should have talked to him 1st and in Harper’s opinion they should have shown it and Canada would have done something to show their support. I agree with Sony that in the end they could not have opened that movie in theaters for several reasons after they received the threat:

  • All those saying that Sony caved in and shouldn’t have I believe would be the 1st in the land where suing is a national past time to hold Sony responsible for every injury, or death resulting from the movie being shown after they were prior warned of the possibility of harm to movie goers.
  • What kind of movie theater owner would endanger the lives of its patrons by showing a movie that has received terrorist threats saying that they will harm movie goers if the movie is shown. When places where important work is being conducted are  shut down when a terrorist threat is received until the threat can be proven to be false, like, office buildings, schools, Capitol Hill, Parliament Hill, airports, metros, train stations  and a whole lot of other places, why in this instance with the threat to lives of people going to see a movie would the  president of the USA and the prime minister of Canada both state publicly they felt Sony made a mistake not releasing the film? Would they really have sent their children to see the movie, or were they both just willing to risk the lives of our children and other citizens to show that the USA and Canada cannot be intimidated?
  • What kind of nut would have brought their children, or attended a movie that had received threats of terrorism after 9/11 and what does that say about them. I do not think that people who run to danger for thrill seeking reasons instead of away from it to safety are brave I think that they are sick and in need of help and anyone who would bring their children into a possible potentially life threatening situation, just to prove they cannot be intimidated, should have those children taken away from them, because they do not deserve them until they get their priorities straight.I feel that we in the west only care about how we envision what the world should look like and what should be practiced in it in terms of governance, environmental controls, religion, culture and rights and freedoms? I feel that we have created a world where the word justice in reality has come to be defined as, “just for us.” I feel that we have created a justice system that is filled with double standards and half-truths, where punishments for breaking laws and treaties fall swiftly and mercilessly on our enemies, but are justified when we are the one found to be guilty.  We in Canada and in the USA might not  threaten to blow up movie theaters, but we do kill innocent people every minute of everyday in our pursuit of what we call justice and the spreading of our values.
  •  I think that before we begin bragging about of American and Canadian values and why we should be trying to get the adopted all over the world, that we should consider that those values allowed for
  • The government of Canada and the government of the USA have proven through their actions of late that they are willing to sentence and  condemn whole countries, the along innocent with the guilty to a future with no hope, where it is every citizen will die a slow torturous death due to hunger, thirst, or sickness, because our governments  have  imposed trade restrictions, sanctions, blockades and embargoes against their countries making it next to impossible to be able to get enough food to eat, clean water to drink and medicine to save the lives of their injured and sick, because we do not like what their governments stand for and yet both the government of Canada and the government of the USA seek to claim some high moral ground  protecting what in my opinion a  racist movie that glorifies the assassination, or the planning of it by the government of the USA. Why is this movie not considered promoting terrorism, or terrorist activity, or is it only these things when these actions are planned and carried out against members of the Western Alliance?
  • The intentional torture of prisoners by the USA that actually caused the deaths of some of the prisoners
  • That torture was casually explained away and justified, with the simple statement that after 9/11 they needed information, so that they exact revenge and that Canada actively participated in that effort.
  • Both the Canadian and American governments insist that the use of this type of methods as rectal feeding was not torture, but done to save lives and that waterboarding was just a way of seeking information and getting justice and not extremist in the slightest; just them protecting themselves. Is this really a movie that should have been made considering the USA’s recent history of not only sanctioning, the assassination of foreign leaders that it feels are a threat to their people and the USA, but putting a bounty on the heads of  leaders they are at odds with? If you were Kim Jong-un, would you consider this movie funny, or a serious potential threat? this is not the 1st movie of this nature that American movie makers have made and I guess it will not be the last, but I think that in the interest of doing what is morally right and decent they should be discouraged.

I think that the real lesson in the whole America’s Sony versus North Korea’s Kim Jon-un is that  this is an example of how small the world has become with the advances of modern technology. What has happened to Sony is a mild example of what can be accomplished by a knowledgeable person in procession of a sophisticated computer. This is irrefutable evidence that military might alone is not enough to keep even the most powerful of countries safe anymore. Any knowledgeable person in procession of a sophisticated computer has the capacity of either disarming a militarily strong nation, destabilising a nation’s economy, or turning a nations weaponry against it by hacking into its systems, or simply shutting down that country’s ability to use their technology. With hackers being among some of the most knowledgeable in the cyber world they have in effect acquired the power to influence how the world is to be run.

  • It should also be noted that when an Islamic nation, engages in this type of retaliatory action, no matter how obvious it fits the circumstances and reasoning and criteria that prompted the American and Canadian government to engage in torture and war after 9/11, they are called terrorists.

Were Warrant Officer Vincent And Cpl. Cirillo Honored In The Wrong Way, For The Wrong Reasons?

Remembrance Day has passed and I feel it is time to ask what is up Canada and ask ourselves a few questions like:

  • (a) Why the Harper government and the news media have decided to redefine heroism?
  • (b) Why Canadians bought into it?
  • (c) why it was such a bad thing to do?

The Harper government did it for:

  • (a) political gain.
  • (b) a chance to push their snooping on innocent Canadians agenda.

The press went along with making these 2 tragic deaths heroic, because stories about heroes sell a lot of ads.

The truth is that neither the death of  Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, or Cpl. Nathan Cirillo were  heroic  Their deaths were  acts of cowardly, senseless murder, committed by  deranged Canadians angry at the Harper government for refusing to let him travel and a whole slew of other things; tragic losses of life, but no act of heroism was involved.  Another truth is that neither Warrant officer Patrice Vincent, or Cpl. Nathan Cirillo were acknowledged as heroes in the eyes of the government, the branch of the military they served, by the press, or by their communities, before they were murdered, so what was the basis for them being made heroes after they were murdered? Surely it was not the fact that they were murdered, because people are senselessly murdered every day in Canada and they have not been considered heroes? Example, if being murdered by a deranged person is the criteria for heroism then why not the 5 RCMP officers ambushed and murdered in New Brunswick? Consider these facts:

  • (a) There was a  need to create and sustain a high level  of fear of Canadian Islamic radicalization throughout the country to justify Canada’s growing involvement in the war against ISIS.
  • (b) There was a need to convince Canadians that overriding the laws of privacy of this country was an acceptable price to pay for maintaining our way of life that Islamic terrorist both foreign and domestic were plotting to destroy on the internet and through acts of home grown terrorism.
  • (c) The murder of the 5 RCMP officers in Moncton just could not be used to achieve that goal by any stretch of the imagination and so they were of little political value to the Harper government and so were left as just tragic senseless losses of life?

No government outrage = no sustained news value = just another tragic senseless death; end of story.

Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent was run down by a car, while going about his personal business, not in the line of duty putting his life knowingly on the line to protect those around him, or anyone else.  Warrant Officer Vincent’s story got  ordinary news coverage and the normal responses to be expected coming from the government in these types of situations with no suggestion of heroism. Vincent Patrice’s family sought privacy,  his community acknowledged that he was a giving person always ready to lend a hand, but at no time referred to him as a hero, because I think that being a good person is just who Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent was and I do not think he considered himself a hero for doing what came natural for him to do and should be normal for every Canadian to do.  The sad fact is that the only reason the government and the press even bothered with the death of Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent to the extent that it did was because the government realizing that the murderer had converted to Islam finally got its chance to link a death on Canadian soil of a Canadian soldier to home grown terrorist activity.

Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, was shot in the back while standing guard over the war memorial in Ottawa and never saw his murder who was later killed when he attacked  Center Block on Parliament Hill.  Cpl. Nathan Cirillo never went to guard that statue feeling that his life could be in danger, or that there was even a remote possibility that he would have to lay down his life to defend it. What Cpl. Nathan Cirillo was doing when he got shot in the back, was purely ceremonial.  I believe that both   Warrant Officer  Patrice Vincent and Cpl. Cirillo were killed, because the Harper government does not take care of its veterans in the way that they should and they (our mistreated, angry, mentally ill veterans)   have stopped committing suicide quietly and have decided to commit suicide in a more attention grabbing manner.

I think that Canadians have bought into this scheme of the Harper government’s to redefine the words hero and heroism, partially because:

  • (a) We were coming up to veteran’s day and were feeling  sensitive and extremely protective of our men and women in the military.
  • (b) We were desperately searching for anything that would justify our governments involvement yet another war on terrorism.
  •  (c) We were being brainwashed into believing that the government’s stated reasons for why we have to lose our rights to privacy are justified, by the never ending bombardment of government rhetoric being forced fed to us through our news media.
  • (d) It is easier to  give in and buy into the claims that there is a Canadian citizen who has been radicalized by Islamic terrorist around every corner, lurking ready to strike in every neighborhood, than to admit that we are doing nothing to help our veterans and their families to  fight for the help that they need and deserve, from this government and do what is necessary to stop the madness.
  • (e) We needed a reason to accept that we live in a country where they can have our passports revoked and refused the right to travel abroad, on the suspicion that we have or could be supporting ISIS or any other group the Harper government considers to be terrorists. It seems so much easier to go along with oppression in the beginning than it is to fight for our rights until democracy is lost along with our way of life and all that is left is fear and the madness.

What I think is wrong with what this government has done in terms of redefining the words hero and heroism  is that we have made being a hero to require no special act of valor, or anything note worthy that rises the person being referred to as a hero above that of anyone else. When a fireman sacrifices his life by running into a burning building to save another what will he or she be called now, or the soldier who throws himself/ herself on a grenade to save the lives of his, or her comrades?  What I feel is wrong is that the tragic deaths of these 2 men were used by the Conservative Party of Canada for 2 reasons and they were:

  • (a) to panic Canadians into giving up their right to privacy.
  • (b) to deflect the blame for the attacks away from themselves and place it squarely on the shoulders of ISIS and home grown radicalised Canadian terrorist.

Neither of these things are hard to achieve, because anything that is written, uttered, or expressed that suggest that the west needs to solve the root causes that encourage the growth in popularity and support for radical Islamist groups such as ISIS  and have young Canadians willing to join them, is considered pro ISIS.  To voice such an opinion  has had Justin Trudeau vilified by both the leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, the NDP and in the news, the press as anti Canadian and not supportive of our military.  Any person expressing such views, or is known to have converted to Islam recently is viewed as needing to be watched, deemed to be an Islamic radicalized Canadian, until proved differently and considdered too dangerous to travel.  What is wrong with what this government has done in my opinion is that if the Conservative Party of Canada was not pushing to get their snooping bill into law the 2 men responsible for the deaths of Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent  and Cpl. Cirillo would never have been labelled the dreaded, ‘terrorist’ and without the need of a terrorist to blame their ineptness on, there would have been no need for a hero. There would have been nothing in the press about it after the first day and both cases would have been recorded in history as murders, tragic loss of life, committed by deranged persons thought to have axe to grind with government.

In conclusion, angry veterans and their families are marching on Parliament Hill demanding that this government take care of them in terms of their health both physical and mental and help them in their transitions from military lives into that of civilian lives this government chooses to ignore them, preferring instead to throw numbers at them. How is it possible that while Canadian soldiers who have been injured while in the service of this country are being told that there is no money to keep their veteran’s Affairs offices and hospitals open, or give them the benefits they should be entitled to when for instance,

  • (a) the government found money to hold a big ceremony on the hill with helicopters landing on the lawn of parliament, marching bands and a jet fly by?
  • (b) under the current legislation, supplementary death benefits for soldiers are based on income — which means when a reservist (part-time) or full-time soldier dies on duty, their families are not compensated equally and yet the government has promised that Cpl. Nathan Cirillo’s family will receive the same benefits as the family of a full-time soldier.

I guess I could have said nothing and went along with Harper’s charade, but I just did not like that these tragic deaths were used by the Harper government for:

  • (a) political gain for the 2015 federal election.
  • (b) leverage to steal the privacy rights of all Canadians.

I believe that the men and women who serve our country so selflessly should receive all the support from their government that is possible to give to them and should not have to be considered ‘heroes’ by Stephen Harper and his government to get it.  There is good reason that metals of valour, distinguished crosses and other medals are not just given to all soldiers and I think that everyone knows why; if you know that why, then you know why this was not the right way to honor these 2 men and that the reasons were all wrong.
